Conjoined twin Abby Hensel is now married

Abby and Brittany Hensel, known for their reality series “Abby & Brittany,” made headlines in 1996 on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” They recently celebrated a big moment: Abby got married. The twins, who share a bloodstream and organs below the waist, have unique coordination – Abby controls the right side, Brittany the left.

The TLC show depicted their daily life, including driving, traveling, and graduation. Abby, now 34 and a teacher, married Josh Bowling, a nurse and army vet, in 2021. They reside in Minnesota and both teach fifth grade.

Their father, Mike, once expressed the difficulty of considering separation surgery, stating, “How could you pick between the two?” Conjoined twins like Abby and Brittany are extremely rare, with only about 1 in 200,000 births. Despite the challenges, the twins remain positive about their future. Brittany, at 16, expressed interest in motherhood, envisioning it as a possibility due to their shared organs.
