Two conjoined twin “influencers” who became popular on social media have now been revealed to be fake. The twins, known online as Valeria and Camila, gained more than 280,000 followers in just a few months by sharing photos, videos, and personal stories about living in one shared body.
The account showed highly polished images and answered intimate questions about daily life and dating. The twins repeatedly denied being artificial and insisted they were real, which convinced many followers. However, experts later confirmed the images were created using artificial intelligence.
AI specialist Andrew Hulbert said the signs were clear. He pointed to flawless skin, perfect symmetry, unrealistic details, and images that looked too perfect to be real photographs. He explained that the entire story was designed to attract attention and increase engagement.
The account is part of a growing trend of AI-generated influencers appearing on platforms like Instagram. Experts warn that repeated exposure to these unreal, “perfect” images can change how people view beauty and reality, even when they know the content is fake.
