After 56 years of marriage, Erin noticed her husband Mike had stopped being romantic. “I don’t understand why you don’t bring me flowers anymore,” Erin complained. Mike responded, “Erin, you are not going to die if I don’t bring flowers every day.”
Erin accused Mike of having an affair, but he denied it, saying he was tired of being the only one making romantic gestures. “56 years, Erin! For 56 years, I was the only one expressing any kind of romance… And you simply take everything and give nothing back!” Mike shouted.
Realizing her mistake, Erin tried to initiate romance, but Mike rejected her efforts, saying, “We’re old. We’ve had more than enough romance in our lives. Now, it’s time to just… be.” Erin couldn’t understand why Mike didn’t want any more romance and eventually asked for a divorce.
Mike moved in with their son, Henry, but was shocked when Erin had a heart attack. Rushing to the hospital, Mike never left her side. After Erin recovered, Mike’s romantic gestures resumed, and they rekindled their love. They remarried on what would’ve been their 58th anniversary.
