Just hours before Charlie Kirk’s memorial, Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett accused him of sharing “harmful rhetoric.” Speaking on CNN, Crockett said Kirk often “targeted people of color” with his comments.
Crockett, one of 58 Democrats who voted against a resolution honoring Kirk, explained her choice: “Most who voted no were people of color because his words hurt our communities.” She added it was “unfortunate” others didn’t recognize the damage she believes his message caused.

Crockett also revealed Kirk criticized her just a month before his death. “I’m not honoring someone who spread lies about me and pushed dangerous ideas,” she said.
Meanwhile, more than 200,000 mourners lined up at State Farm Stadium in Arizona to celebrate Kirk’s life. President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Kirk’s widow, Erika, were among the speakers.
Her remarks sparked debate across social media. Do you think political criticism should pause on the day of a memorial?
