After losing her five-year-old daughter Ava to leukemia and later separating from her husband, Joseph, Eleanor feels her once-joyful life go quiet. Years after the loss, she longs to be a mother again and begins searching adoption sites, hoping for a fresh start.

One evening, she spots a little girl named Charlotte on the Grace Adoption Services website — and the child looks uncannily like Ava.
