Dolly Parton and Sabrina Carpenter recently teamed up for a remix of Carpenter’s hit song, ‘Please Please Please,’ but not without some conditions from the country icon.
Before agreeing to the collaboration, Parton set four strict rules: “I told her, I said, now, I don’t cuss. I don’t make fun of Jesus. I don’t talk bad about God, and I don’t say dirty words.” She later joked, “On camera, but known to if I get mad enough.”
These rules led to changes in the lyrics. In Carpenter’s original, a line included an expletive, but in the remix, it was altered to: “I beg you, don’t embarrass me like the others.”
A TikTok video of the duo joking about the changes went viral, with fans praising the collaboration. Parton called Carpenter “so sweet” and expressed her love for working with other artists. Reflecting on her career, she added, “I love being able to have that freedom… Just having the freedom to work and the freedom to express yourself the way you want to.”
