Donald Trump Calls Ukrainian President Zelenskyy “Disrespectful” In Tense Confrontation At White House

Tense Meeting Between Trump and Zelenskyy

A tense meeting between President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took place at the White House. The discussion, about a potential deal on Ukraine’s rare-earth minerals, escalated when Vance asked Zelenskyy if he had expressed gratitude for U.S. aid. Vance remarked, “the path to peace and the path to prosperity is maybe engaging in diplomacy,” to which Zelenskyy replied, “What kind of diplomacy, JD, you are speaking about?”

Trump and Vance’s Accusations

Vance accused Zelenskyy of being disrespectful by arguing in front of American media. Trump supported Vance, telling Zelenskyy, “You’re in no position to dictate what we’re gonna feel. … You’re gambling with World War III.” Trump further criticized Zelenskyy for not being thankful, stating, “You’re not acting at all thankful.”

Zelenskyy’s Departure

Following the heated exchange, Zelenskyy left the White House, and the planned press conference was canceled.

Trump’s Response

Trump later posted on Truth Social, stating that Zelenskyy is “not ready for peace” and can return when he is.
