Donald Trump sparked confusion by congratulating Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost on becoming Pope Leo XIV, the first American pope. He stated:
“It is such an honor… What excitement, and what a Great Honor for our Country. I look forward to meeting Pope Leo XIV.”
Later, Trump implied his influence helped the appointment due to his success with Catholic voters.

Trump lashed out at ABC’s Martha Raddatz, saying she dismissed his role in the pope’s election due to being “Trump Deranged.”
“Remember, I did WIN the Catholic Vote, by a lot!” he insisted, while also attacking ABC and calling for change:
“Bob Iger should do something about the losers and haters he’s got on his low rated shows.”

At a press event on drug pricing, Trump claimed:
“So basically what we are doing is equalizing. It’s a new word that I came up with…”
Social media quickly pointed out that the word dates back to 1599, with users mocking the statement.
