Nations Face Takeover Threats
President Donald Trump has issued military threats against several nations and captured Venezuela’s leader. These actions have sparked global fears of a new world war.
Military Strike in Venezuela
Earlier this month, a US military strike captured President Nicolás Maduro. His wife, Cilia Flores, was also taken during the operation. Trump shared a photo of Maduro on the USS Iwo Jima. He stated the US will run the country and its oil companies.
Calls to Invade UK
Far-right figure Tommy Robinson urged Trump to free the United Kingdom. He called Prime Minister Keir Starmer a tyrannical dictator on social media. Robinson, also known as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, asked Trump to free the British people. Meanwhile, Trump threatened to attack five other countries on Air Force One.
Warnings to NATO Allies
Trump repeatedly said the United States must own Greenland for national security. He claimed he would acquire it the easy way or the hard way. Greenland’s Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, told Washington to stop threatening an ally. He warned that attacking a NATO member would end global security.
Other Nations at Risk
Trump told Colombia’s President Gustavo Petro to watch his back. He suggested a military operation against the resource-rich country sounds good. Also, Trump renamed the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. Finally, he speculated about making Canada the 51st state using economic force.
