Ellen DeGeneres has confirmed that she and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have moved to the English countryside. The former TV host revealed during a recent event in Cheltenham that the move happened soon after Donald Trump’s re-election. “We moved here in November,” she shared. “It wasn’t the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life.”
The couple now enjoys a quiet routine with chickens and horses on their Cotswolds property. “It’s absolutely beautiful,” Ellen said. “The villages and the architecture — everything is charming, and it’s just a simpler way of life.” She praised British culture, adding, “Everything here is just better — the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here.”
Their move followed the sale of their California estate and several other luxury homes. Ellen, known for flipping high-end properties, has shifted from the fast-paced lifestyle of Hollywood to a slower, nature-filled life in England.
The comedian has been sharing glimpses of this new chapter on social media, from feeding chickens to enjoying outdoor adventures with Portia.
