Eminem’s child, Stevie Laine Scott, has come out as non-binary and changed their name. Fans have expressed overwhelming support, with one writing, “Glad to see you are feeling more comfortable with yourself! Love yourself! You’re awesome.” Another added, “It takes so much courage to do that. You’re an amazing person.”
Stevie, formerly known as Whitney Scott, was born in 2002 to Kim Scott and Eric Hartter. After Eminem and Kim reunited in 2005, the rapper adopted Stevie. They have previously used social media to share personal experiences, including a 2021 TikTok video hinting that they were unaware of their adoption. In the video, they recall being told, “He’s not your real dad. You’re adopted,” and later confronting Eminem with, “You’re my real dad, right? Am I adopted?”
Now, Stevie is focused on their gender identity. They first came out as bisexual before publicly identifying as non-binary in 2021. When asked about their name choice, Stevie shared, “I spent a long time trying to pick a name I felt comfortable with, and the first name I felt comfortable with is Stevie.”
