Seventeen-year-old Pheobe Bishop has been missing since May 15 after leaving her home in Gin Gin, Queensland, to fly to Perth and visit her boyfriend. She never boarded the flight, and CCTV confirmed she didn’t enter the airport terminal.
Her phone has been off ever since, and she hasn’t contacted anyone. Police questioned her housemates, who dropped her off, and later released them. A grey Hyundai ix35 linked to the case has since been seized and declared an “active crime scene.”
Authorities also discovered potential evidence in Good Night Scrub National Park, about an hour from where Pheobe was last seen. Items found there are undergoing forensic testing, and police believe some may have been moved before their arrival.

Pheobe’s mother, Kylie Johnson, shared her anguish online: “Our hearts are shattering more and more each day.” She described the disappearance as completely out of character, adding, “She always takes our calls.”
The community is keeping hope alive with a “leave the lights on” initiative—symbolically lighting the way for Pheobe’s safe return.
