Katy Perry and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau appear to be embracing their new relationship with confidence, following months of speculation and quiet sightings. The pair first drew public attention earlier this year when both were navigating the end of long-term relationships.
Perry and actor Orlando Bloom confirmed their separation in July, explaining that they remain committed to co-parenting their daughter. Trudeau and his wife, Sophie Grégoire, ended their 18-year marriage in 2023.

Rumours of a romance between Perry and Trudeau intensified in September when photographs emerged of the two sharing a kiss during a boat outing. Now, the couple has taken a major step forward: they’ve gone social-media official.
Trudeau posted a photo on X showing himself, Perry, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida with his wife during an official visit. His caption praised Kishida’s leadership and added that he and Perry were “glad” to meet with the couple. Kishida later replied with warm holiday greetings to both Trudeau and Perry.

The post immediately set social media alight, with many users joking about the unexpected level of public debut. Comments ranged from calling it “the craziest hard launch in the history of the free world” to playful remarks about Perry joining diplomatic events. Others simply marvelled at the unlikely pairing, dubbing it a “polite crossover episode.”
Although the relationship is clearly moving forward, Perry reportedly spent Thanksgiving with friends at Shanghai Disney Resort rather than with Trudeau.
Their romance, however, shows no sign of slowing down.
