Footballer, 19, dies after drowning in his own stomach acid while on the phone to his mother

Romanian footballer Luca Manolache has died at the age of 19 after suffering from a mysterious illness.

The young player, who previously played for Metaloglobus București, had stopped playing last year after experiencing serious health problems, including fatigue, dizziness, and vision issues.

Reports say Manolache became severely ill on February 28 and called his mother while being taken to the hospital. Sadly, he passed away shortly after.

An autopsy later revealed that he died after choking on stomach acid following severe vomiting.

His club paid tribute, saying his passion for football and positive spirit will always be remembered.
