No one in the quiet Wichita neighborhood expected blood on the porch that Halloween morning.
Angelynn “Angie” Mock, 47 — once a respected Fox News anchor and corporate consultant — now sits behind bars, accused of murdering her 80-year-old mother, Anita Avers. Police found Avers with multiple stab wounds inside her Kansas home after a frantic 911 call came in just before 8 a.m.

Neighbors were stunned. “She ran up to my car covered in blood,” said Alyssa Castro, who described the woman’s trembling hands as she begged for help. According to dispatch audio, Mock reportedly told officers she had “stabbed her mother to save herself.” Whether that claim holds truth remains under investigation.
Before her life took this dark turn, Angie Mock was a familiar face on morning television — sharp, poised, and warm. She had anchored for FOX 25 in Oklahoma City and FOX 2 in St. Louis, winning awards and admiration for her professionalism. Later, she reinvented herself as a corporate communications consultant and community volunteer.

Now, the same woman once trusted to deliver the news is making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
What happened inside that home — and what drove a daughter to such horror — remains a mystery that has left an entire city searching for answers.
Do you think trauma or secrets can turn even the calmest life upside down?
