An Oklahoma grandmother has been arrested after an 11-year-old girl was allegedly forced to give birth at home without a doctor. Prosecutors say Michelle Justus, the child’s grandmother, ignored warning signs and failed to get help. She now faces six counts of felony child neglect.
The girl’s mother, Cherie Walker, and stepfather, Dustin Walker, were also arrested. DNA results later showed Dustin Walker was the baby’s father. “I was horror-stricken to find out it’s an 11-year-old little girl,” said Muskogee County prosecutor Janet Hutson.

Court documents claim Justus lived across the street and often acted as caretaker. She allegedly saw the girl daily, even the day she gave birth, but did not call authorities. “We did not know this was happening. None of us,” Justus had previously told reporters.
The young girl and her siblings have since been removed from the home. The prosecutor called it “one of the most serious child abuse cases” she had ever handled. This tragic story raises painful questions about trust, family, and responsibility.
