Harvard Scientist Claims Math Proves God Exists
Dr. Willie Soon, an astrophysicist at Harvard and the Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics, recently appeared on the Tucker Carlson Network to share a controversial idea: math can prove the existence of God. Dr. Soon points to the “fine-tuning argument,” which suggests the universe’s conditions and physical laws are perfectly suited for life.
The Dirac Formula
Dr. Soon references a formula created by mathematician Paul Dirac in 1963, who was also known as the “father of antimatter.” The formula asserts that the laws of physics are described by a highly complex and beautiful mathematical theory, raising the question of why nature is so structured. Dirac wrote, “One could perhaps describe the situation by saying that God is a mathematician of a very high order, and He used very advanced mathematics in constructing the universe.”
God and Science
Dr. Soon believes that the precise laws of nature indicate the universe’s intentional design by a higher power. He stated, “God has given us this light, to follow the light and do the best that we can.”
Conclusion
In Dr. Soon’s view, the complexity and order of the universe point to God as its creator.
