Christmas arrives with twinkly lights, crowded calendars, and snacks on every surface. So when a doctor says, “Please skip your favorites,” it can feel like a personal attack.
Still, cardiac surgeon Dr. Jeremy London recently shared a simple holiday warning on TikTok. First, he urged people to cut back on fast food. He argued that many drive-thru staples count as “edible food product,” not real meals. In other words, he sees it as an occasional convenience, not a daily habit.

Next, he called out soft drinks, including diet versions. He described them as a poor trade for your body, especially when sugar, additives, and routine cravings stack up.
Then he pointed to dairy-heavy treats. That one stings in December, because cheese boards, creamy desserts, and chocolate rarely stay in the fridge. He reminded viewers that humans keep drinking milk long after infancy, and we often borrow it from another species.
Finally, he landed on alcohol. He didn’t mince words. He called it toxic and warned that even moderate drinking can add stress to the body while also lowering good judgment.
Of course, most of us won’t live on plain chicken and water until New Year’s. However, his message works as a gentle reset. Choose your splurges. Slow down. And let “just one more” stay rare.
