A two-year-old girl died after she went missing during a Christmas gathering. She fell into a garden pond at her family home in Doncaster.
What happened during the family gathering
First, the family opened presents and played with toys on December 25. Isobel wandered into her parents’ garden, her aunt said. Although relatives were close by, she reached a fenced pond in seconds.

Emergency response and the family’s loss
Next, relatives started CPR, meaning chest pushes to restart breathing. Paramedics then arrived and took Isobel to hospital. However, she later died.

Tributes and support for the family
Also, Isobel’s mother, Tamara Wallace, shared a tribute online. She called her daughter “gifted” and a “magic girl,” and asked people to remember her spirit. Isobel’s aunt, Abigail Maxwell, set up a GoFundMe for funeral and counselling costs.

Finally, Maxwell said the pond came with a new home the parents were renovating. She described it as a tragic accident, with a temporary fence in place. The family also plans to build a memorial fairy garden for Isobel.
