A Texas father left a gut-wrenching goodbye message for his children before being swept away by deadly floods. Jeff Ramsey, 61, was staying at an RV park in Kerrville with his wife Tanya and their dog when flash floods hit on July 4.
His son, Jake, shared that Jeff realized he wasn’t going to survive. “He said, ‘Buddy, I love you so much… Tell Rachey I love her,’” Jake recalled. The message was filled with fear, and the sound of rushing water could be heard in the background.

Though terrified, Jeff used his final moments to save others. He called Tanya’s mother and brother at 4:30 a.m., waking them just in time. Their cabin, later destroyed by floodwaters, was completely underwater.
“He saved their lives,” Jake said. As of now, over 170 people remain missing, and at least 109 have died due to the catastrophic flooding.
Jeff Ramsey’s bravery and love live on through his children’s memories—and the lives he helped protect.
