Symptoms She First Dismissed
First, Susete Isabel, 40, suffered months of severe night sweats and extreme fatigue. These signs often appear during menopause, hormone changes in women aged 40 to 55. She also noticed weight loss and stomach swelling, which she blamed on stress and alcohol.
Shocking Diagnosis in Hospital
Next, intense pain under her ribs sent her to the emergency room. Doctors diagnosed stage four follicular lymphoma, a blood cancer that had spread widely. They later linked earlier groin, neck, and armpit pain to damaged lymph nodes, glands that filter waste from the body.
Treatment and Warning to Others
Also, scans showed cancer in her spleen and bone marrow. She completed six rounds of chemotherapy, drug treatment that kills cancer cells. About 85 percent of the cancer is gone, and she now awaits follow-up scans. She urges others to listen to their bodies and seek help early.
