ICE agent involved in deadly shooting of Renee Nicole Good identified as Jonathan Ross

Agent named

The ICE agent was identified as Jonathan “Jon” Ross.
Good, 37, was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon while driving her SUV.
ICE agents were on duty along the Minneapolis street where the shooting occurred.

Video evidence

Multiple videos show Ross opening fire as Good sat behind the wheel.
The footage shows shots striking Good in the face while she was driving.
Video later shows her reverse, then drive forward, before three shots rang out.

Political reaction

The Trump administration called Good a “professional agitator.”
Officials said she had been stalking federal agents.
However, Democratic officials in Minneapolis called the shooting murder.
Meanwhile, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem said ICE agents will remain in Minnesota.

Prior incident

An FBI agent told the Daily Mail Ross is an experienced officer.
The source said Ross was dragged by a car during an arrest last June.
That incident happened in Bloomington, Minnesota, at 8am on June 17.
Ross was dragged more than 100 yards and needed 20 stitches.
In December, a St. Paul jury convicted Roberto Carlos Munoz-Guatemala, 40.
The DOJ said Munoz is illegally in the United States and from Mexico.

Aftermath and protests

Protests followed Good’s death across Minneapolis.
Governor Tim Walz urged calm as schools cancelled classes.
DHS said it deployed more than 2,000 officers and arrested over 1,500 people.
Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, denied claims her daughter joined protests.
“That’s so stupid,” Ganger told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune.
“She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life.”
