ICE agent’s injuries after killing Renee Good revealed by officials

US officials disclosed injuries to the ICE agent who fatally shot Renee Good during a Minneapolis encounter.

On January 7, ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot US citizen Renee Good during a confrontation. The shooting triggered protests nationwide amid rising tension over immigration policy. Good was a 37-year-old mother of three. She was driving through a Minneapolis neighborhood when she encountered ICE agents.

Officials said Ross claimed self-defense after the incident. He alleged Good tried to run him over with her car. A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson supported his claim. The spokesperson called Good’s actions an act of domestic terrorism.

However, that account drew sharp criticism from city leaders. Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey rejected the claim.

Meanwhile, DHS provided new details about Ross’s condition. Officials said Ross suffered internal bleeding to the torso. The extent of those injuries remains unclear. DHS State Secretary Kristi Noem said Ross went to a hospital on January 7. It is believed he was released the same day.

Later, the family response came through their attorney. Antonio Romanucci said relatives remain deeply affected.
“It’s a message of ‘united,'”

He confirmed the family plans an independent investigation.
“We will gather our evidence as best we can, and we will do this ourselves. We would hope to have cooperation, right? That’s something that we all hope to do,”

Finally, Romanucci said the family seeks transparency.
“Let’s cooperate to find the truth, and then we accept the truth. But until we have that cooperation, we have to run independently.”
