Texas mom and TikTok creator Mara Doemland will never forget the day her two-year-old daughter, Sunny, nearly died. She had stepped inside to change her baby’s diaper — just ten minutes — when she heard screams. “I ran outside and saw my little girl lying there, blue and not breathing,” Mara recalled through tears.
Sunny had slipped into the pool. Her older sister pulled her out while paramedics rushed to perform CPR. “I just kept saying, ‘I don’t understand. She wasn’t even swimming,’” Mara said. Sunny survived, but the trauma still haunts the family.
In the weeks that followed, child protective services launched an investigation. “I thought they were going to take all my kids,” Mara admitted. “It was terrifying.” The case was eventually closed, but the emotional scars remain. “Every time I hear an ambulance, I relive that moment.”
