‘It’s my job to keep my husband happy – I spend 5 hours cooking and lay out his clothes’

A 25-year-old woman from Virginia has drawn attention for embracing a traditional lifestyle built around staying home and managing the household. Estee Williams, who proudly refers to herself as a “tradwife,” believes in clear gender roles and says her goal is to make daily life easier for her husband, Conner. The couple married earlier this year after agreeing on the values they discussed during their first date.

Conner works full-time as an electrician, while Estee takes care of the home. She prepares meals from scratch, often spending several hours a day in the kitchen, and handles the cleaning, shopping, and errands. She also lays out Conner’s clothes and keeps their home organized so he can relax after work. Estee says this simple division of responsibility prevents arguments and creates a peaceful routine.

Her desire for this lifestyle began early. She grew up watching her mother balance work and childcare after a divorce and decided she wanted a different path. When she met Conner in 2020, she left college and chose not to pursue a career, focusing instead on their home and future family. Although the couple does not yet have children, she hopes to start a family in the next few years and plans to homeschool when the time comes.

Estee says she enjoys keeping a welcoming home and still finds time for hobbies, including gardening and figure skating. While she has faced online criticism, she insists she is not controlled or dependent in a way that harms her. For her, the arrangement is fulfilling, stable, and exactly what she hoped for in adulthood.
