Getting knocked out is bad. Getting your jaw broken is worse. And learning to “eat” through a straw? That’s a special kind of humbling.
Jake Paul says he’s on that road now. After his loss to Anthony Joshua, he landed in the hospital with a broken jaw. Then he went straight into surgery.
The fight itself looked like a mismatch. Joshua stayed calm, waited for openings, and scored a sixth-round knockout. Meanwhile, Paul took heavy shots and kept trying.

Still, the real pain started after the bell. Paul later confirmed the damage and shared a blunt update from his hospital bed.
Two plates, one menu: liquids only
Paul told fans the surgery went smoothly. However, he’s dealing with stiffness and serious pain. He also said doctors installed titanium plates on both sides.
Next came the least glamorous part. He has to stick to liquids for seven days. No chewing. No shortcuts. Just patience.
Even so, Paul sounded upbeat. He called the experience “fun,” gave Joshua credit, and admitted he got worked.

Here’s the bigger point. Boxing doesn’t care about fame, followers, or bravado. It only respects skill and consequences.
And right now, those consequences look like swelling, titanium, and a blender.
