Final Farewell in Manhattan
Tatiana Schlossberg was laid to rest in Manhattan on January 5, 2026.
She was the granddaughter of former U.S. president John F. Kennedy.
The service took place at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola.
The same church honored Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis over 30 years ago.
Illness and Final Essay
Tatiana died on December 30, 2025, after acute myeloid leukemia.
She revealed her diagnosis in a New Yorker essay weeks earlier.
“I did not — could not — believe that they were talking about me,”
She was diagnosed in May 2024, after her second child’s birth.
Still, she kept writing and kept parenting while fighting privately.

Family and Key Mourners
Caroline Kennedy and Edwin Schlossberg attended with Rose and Jack.
Maria Shriver and Kerry Kennedy also joined the private service.
Tatiana’s husband George Moran arrived holding their two children.
Their son Edwin is 3, and Josephine is 1.
Former president Joe Biden attended and wiped away tears.
John Kerry, David Letterman, Carolina Herrera, and David Remnick attended.

Public Grief and Meaning
The family shared news via the JFK Library Foundation.
“Our beautiful Tatiana passed away this morning. She will always be in our hearts,”
Tatiana also wrote about motherhood and loss.
“My son might have a few memories, but he’ll probably start confusing them with pictures he sees or stories he hears,”

Tatiana criticized her cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in her essay.
She wrote he was Health and Human Services secretary.
“I watched as Bobby cut nearly a half billion dollars for research into mRNA vaccines, technology that could be used against certain cancers,”
