Joe Biden, 82, is starting a new round of treatment for prostate cancer that has spread to his bones. Earlier this year, the former U.S. president revealed his diagnosis and said he was “feeling good” despite the news.
Doctors discovered a prostate nodule after Biden reported urinary problems. Tests confirmed an aggressive cancer with a Gleason score of 9, one of the highest ratings. “While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, it’s hormone-sensitive and manageable,” his medical team explained.
Biden has now begun radiation therapy and hormone treatment, which will last about five weeks. “It’s all a matter of taking one pill for the next six weeks,” he shared. “The prognosis is good.”
