Former President Joe Biden sparked online chatter after sharing a Christmas Eve family photo in which many viewers said they could barely spot him.
Biden, 83, posted the snapshot on X on Wednesday night, standing in front of a Christmas tree with seven relatives. Alongside the image, he wished followers a peaceful, joyful holiday filled with love.

But the comments quickly focused on the framing. Several users noted that Biden appeared pushed toward the back of the group, with his face partly blocked by his wife, Jill. Some even joked that it looked edited — until they realized it came from his verified account.
The post drew heavy attention, racking up millions of views by Thursday, and kicked off a debate about family-photo “etiquette” when the person sharing the picture is a former president.

In the same shot, Biden’s son Hunter appeared more centered, standing with other family members including Biden’s daughters and grandchildren. Multiple commenters said it felt odd — or even disrespectful — that Biden was the only person whose face wasn’t fully visible.

Since leaving the 2024 race, Biden has largely stepped back from public life. His post-presidential office has also said he was diagnosed with prostate cancer that spread to his bones, and that he completed radiation treatment in late October.
