Joe Biden’s spokesperson has shared a rare health update after the 82-year-old former president revealed he was battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer.
Biden first announced his diagnosis in May, explaining that the cancer had already spread to his bones. At the time, he thanked supporters for their kindness, saying that he and his wife, Jill, had learned to “be strongest in the broken places.”
Now, his spokesperson has confirmed that Biden is undergoing radiation and hormone therapy as part of his ongoing treatment. The cancer, reportedly hormone-sensitive, allows for “effective management,” offering cautious optimism about his recovery.

Biden, who left office in January as the oldest serving U.S. president, has long been an advocate for cancer research, especially after losing his son Beau to brain cancer in 2015. Recently, he has stepped back from public life, sparking speculation about his health.
Despite criticism from political rivals, Biden maintains a calm and positive outlook, assuring Americans that his prognosis is good. As prostate cancer remains one of the most common cancers among men, his openness serves as a reminder of shared vulnerability — and strength through resilience.
