Daniel Davies, 19, was forced to enter rehab after his mother filmed him stumbling home high on ketamine. Addicted since age 16, the Warrington teen was using up to five grams a day, even while working. He spent £40 daily and once traded his PlayStation 5 for a massive supply of the drug.
His addiction began after a friend’s suicide. “I hated how I felt off it, but I couldn’t stop,” Daniel shared. He hid ketamine in his clothes, snorted it in bathrooms—even on job sites. His mum, Julie, was so worried she slept outside his door, fearing he might die.
Daniel’s health deteriorated with stomach cramps and burning urination. “I never got to the point of weeing blood, but it felt like razor blades,” he said. Despite a failed first rehab attempt, he returned and is now nearly 90 days clean, saying he feels “10 times better.”
He now urges others to speak up: “You’re not alone. There are more people going through this than you think.” Officials say ketamine abuse is rising, with Lancashire receiving £10.6M to fight drug-related deaths.
