Lily-Rose Depp Slams Claims She’s Only Famous Because Of Dad Johnny Depp

Lily-Rose Depp, daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis, has pushed back against the notion that her success is solely due to her famous father. Despite her parents’ split in 2012, Lily-Rose credits both for supporting her budding career. At 16, she landed her first modeling gig with Chanel and has since graced the pages of Vogue. Her acting chops are also evident, with 12 films under her belt.

In a candid interview with Elle, Lily-Rose addressed the ‘nepotism baby’ concept, highlighting the importance of merit in her achievements. “Nothing is going to get you the part except for being right for the part,” she stated. While acknowledging her family’s influence, she emphasized her own efforts, stating, “There’s more to it than that.”

Lily-Rose also expressed her desire not to be defined by the men in her life, a sentiment reinforced by her father’s high-profile trial against Amber Heard. Despite her statements, some on Twitter criticized her, arguing that she should acknowledge her privilege more openly.
