Family’s Heartfelt Statement
Just days before a major update in their daughter’s case, Kate and Gerry McCann shared a moving message on the 18th anniversary of Madeleine’s disappearance. “The years appear to be passing even more quickly… Our determination to ‘leave no stone unturned’ is unwavering,” they wrote. They also marked what would have been her 22nd birthday, saying, “She continues to be right here with us… We miss her.”

Disturbing Evidence Uncovered
Police revealed that evidence found in 2016 points to Madeleine being dead. A search of a property in Neuwegersleben, Germany—linked to main suspect Christian Brueckner—uncovered USBs with disturbing content, including child abuse images, chat logs with pedophiles, and 70 children’s swimsuits. A photo also allegedly places Brueckner near where Madeleine vanished in 2007.
Brueckner’s Criminal Past
Brueckner was arrested months later for unrelated child abuse and named a suspect in the McCann case in 2020. He’s currently serving a 7-year sentence for the 2005 rape of a woman in Praia da Luz. He denies any involvement in Madeleine’s disappearance.

The case remains open.
