Beloved Kath & Kim star Magda Szubanski has shared an emotional update from her hospital bed. The 64-year-old actress is fighting stage four Mantle Cell Lymphoma, a rare and aggressive blood cancer.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Magda thanked a young fan for lifting her spirits. “Chemo is smacking me around right now and you really cheered me up. Bless you, my darling,” she said warmly.
Magda revealed she is undergoing the “Nordic protocol,” a tough treatment using several drug phases. She admitted the road is “rough,” but added, “I’ve never felt more held by the people around me.” Many celebrities, including Alex Nation and Gorgi Coghlan, shared messages of love and support.
Despite the challenges, Magda remains hopeful. She urged fans to keep their distance due to her weak immune system but promised, “Wave enthusiastically from a safe distance and know I love you madly.”
