A major breakthrough has been made in the case of Clinton and Cristen Brink, who were fatally attacked while hiking with their two young daughters in Devil’s Den State Park, Arkansas. The tragic incident happened on July 26, as the family enjoyed a walk on the popular trail.
The couple’s daughters, aged seven and nine, escaped unharmed and alerted park staff. Police quickly launched a manhunt and, after five days, arrested 28-year-old James Andrew McGann at a hair salon in Springdale. He now faces two counts of capital murder.

McGann, a former teacher from Oklahoma, had recently moved to Arkansas and was due to start a job at Springdale Public Schools. Officials say he passed all background checks and had not yet interacted with students or families.
“Our agents worked tirelessly to bring justice to this family,” said Colonel Mike Hagar. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders added, “Arkansas will not tolerate such senseless violence.” McGann is currently being held in Washington County jail.
