Man Left In Coma And Given 4% Chance Of Survival After Pulling Out Ingrown Hair

A simple act nearly cost a man his life after he plucked an ingrown hair. Steven Spinale, 36, became seriously ill in 2022, eventually falling into a coma. Doctors gave him just a 4% chance of survival.

His sister Michelle said Steven had been “pretty sick for a month” before doctors discovered a rare infection caused by the plucked hair. “He started vomiting blood, and hospitals still sent him home,” she shared on TikTok. Eventually, he was diagnosed with severe sepsis and placed on life support.

While in the hospital, Steven developed influenza, double pneumonia, and acute respiratory distress syndrome. His organs began to fail, and he spent three weeks in a coma.

Despite the odds, Steven is now showing signs of recovery. His family calls him “a miracle” and continues to raise funds for medical bills through GoFundMe. “Steven is so important to so many people. We need him to fight like never before,” Michelle said. His story serves as a shocking reminder that even small wounds can turn dangerous.
