Mark Ruffalo, Natasha Lyonne and other stars protest Renee Good death with ‘ICE Out’ pin at 2026 Golden Globes

A-list actors used the 83rd Golden Globes red carpet to protest the death of Renee Good and the actions of ICE agents.

The Red Carpet Protest

Mark Ruffalo, 58, led a group of stars wearing “ICE Out” and “Be Good” pins. Natasha Lyonne and Wanda Sykes also joined the protest at the Beverly Hilton. The pins honor the memory of Renee Good and Keith Porter. Both individuals died following encounters with federal immigration agents. Ruffalo wore his pin on a white tuxedo jacket while posing with his wife.

Honoring Renee Good

ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed 37-year-old Good last Wednesday. The shooting happened during a protest against immigration raids in Minneapolis. Ross claimed Good tried to run him over with her vehicle. However, new video footage appears to show her wheels turning away from him. The organizers said the pins remind people to be good neighbors and allies.

Rising Concerns Over ICE

The protest organizers noted that ICE agents killed more people in 2025 than in two decades. They also claimed the Trump administration spent $100 million to boost agency recruitment. Groups like the ACLU and Move On are supporting this celebrity effort. They argue that federal power is being used to intimidate local communities.

Award Winners at a Glance

Aside from the protest, “One Battle After Another” dominated the film awards. The movie won Best Picture for Musical or Comedy and Best Director. Timothee Chalamet and Wagner Moura both took home Best Actor trophies. Meanwhile, the show “Adolescence” earned major wins in the television categories.
