Barack and Michelle Obama’s daughters, Malia and Sasha, are embracing adulthood — and each other — by becoming roommates in Los Angeles. Their bond, strengthened since childhood and through pandemic lockdowns, has only deepened. Barack once shared, “Seeing Malia and Sasha become such great friends has been wonderful.”
Malia, 26, graduated from Harvard and made her TV writing debut on Prime Video’s Swarm, later winning the New Generation prize for her short film The Heart at the Deauville Film Festival. Barack proudly called her “an extraordinary woman” on her birthday, adding, “You’re still willing to hold your dad’s hand in public!”

Meanwhile, Sasha, 23, graduated from the University of Southern California with a sociology degree and continues to charm the public with her lively spirit. Michelle affectionately joked, “Now they are bringing grown men home” during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Though carving their own paths, the sisters stay grounded in the strong family values their parents instilled — and continue to thrive out of the spotlight.
