A tragic mass shooting at a Minneapolis Catholic church left two children dead and many injured. The gunman, Robin Westman, 23, shared a disturbing manifesto before the attack.
In the notes, Westman admitted regret. “I am tired of being trans. I wish I never brainwashed myself,” the shooter wrote. The letter showed deep conflict, saying, “I know I am not a woman, but I don’t feel like a man.”

Court records revealed Westman was born Robert and legally changed name in 2020. The handwritten letter also mentioned depression, cancer fears from vaping, and years of anger. Investigators say the shooter used multiple guns during the attack before dying by suicide.
Two children, ages 8 and 10, were killed. Fifteen more children and three elderly church members were wounded but are expected to survive. Emergency responders described scenes of chaos, begging colleagues to “bring all the gauze you have.”

This heartbreaking tragedy raises painful questions about identity, mental health, and violence in America. What do you think society should focus on to prevent such horrors?
