Miranda Lambert, seven years post-divorce from fellow country star Blake Shelton, recently opened up about the media frenzy that surrounded their high-profile split. “I wasn’t prepared for that,” she told CBS News. “I don’t think anybody is. And it’s not nice sometimes, but I think you got to take it with a grain of salt.”
The “Actin’ Up” singer finds solace in her music, which allows her to express her truth amid public scrutiny. “I’m a singer-songwriter so luckily I can tell my whole truth,” she shared. “I will not lie in my music.”
After their 2015 divorce, Blake moved on with Gwen Stefani, marrying her last summer. Miranda experienced brief relationships before finding happiness with NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin, marrying him in January 2019. Reflecting on this, she said, “I feel like I’ve been through enough in my life to know what I don’t want. So when I know what I do want, I snatch it right up.”
With a thriving career and supportive partner, Miranda feels more settled and at peace. “I’ve grown up and I’ve learned a lot about myself and I think at some point you start to settle into who you are,” she said. “I feel at peace with myself.”
