‘Missing’ drunk man accidentally joins his own search party

Life has a way of creating moments so unlikely they feel scripted. One recent incident shows how quickly confusion can turn into relief—and a story people can’t stop sharing.

A group of rescuers was calling out a missing man’s name: Beyhan Mutlu. The goal was simple—find him and make sure he was safe.

Then came the twist. When someone shouted, “Beyhan Mutlu!” a voice replied immediately: “I am here.”
The man they were looking for had been nearby the whole time—and responded as if he were helping the search.

Once the realization hit, a rescuer pulled him aside to confirm his details and figure out what happened. Mutlu reportedly pleaded, asking not to be treated too harshly and worrying his father would be furious.
Police later drove him home, and there’s no clear public indication of further consequences.

The harmless ending brought relief, but the irony made it unforgettable. It’s a reminder that even serious situations can take surprising turns—and that safety matters most in the end.

What’s the most “it could only happen in real life” moment you’ve ever witnessed?
