Britney Alba, a 27-year-old elementary school teacher, and her husband Frankie, a 25-year-old firefighter, made headlines when they welcomed their second set of identical twins, Lynlee and Lydia, in August 2022. Just 13 months earlier, they had become parents to identical twin boys, Luka and Levi.

“People gawk at us when we’re out in public. Now it’s like a circus,” Alba says. “Everyone wants to get a look!” Despite the attention, Alba finds joy in her unique family. “Yes, they’re super cute but they also share a unique bond,” she says.

The sisters, Lynlee and Lydia, are especially close, finding comfort in physical proximity. They were monochorionic-monoamniotic (MoMo) twins, sharing the same placenta and amniotic sac, which is rare among identical twins. MoMo twins face increased risks, including stillbirth and tangled umbilical cords, requiring careful monitoring and early delivery.

Lynlee and Lydia were delivered via cesarean at 32 weeks gestation. Now 3 months old, they join their 17-month-old brothers for rides in their four-seater stroller. Reflecting on her experience, Alba says, “You know, it’s funny, I wasn’t scared. I remember thinking, ‘OK! Round two.’”
