A Texas mother, Ashley Pardo, is the first person in Bexar County to be charged with aiding in the commission of terrorism. Police say she helped her 13-year-old son plan a violent attack at Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio.
Court records claim she bought him tactical gear, ammunition, and loaded magazines. Shockingly, officials allege she gave him this equipment “in exchange for babysitting his siblings.” Police also found school maps marked “suicide route” and evidence of the boy’s obsession with white supremacist shooters.
Pardo now faces an additional charge of child endangerment. An image found by police reportedly shows her holding a shotgun to a baby’s head. She allegedly texted the baby’s father, calling the child a “brat” and saying, “Tell her to keep being bad.”
Police also found explosives, violent drawings, and hate symbols in their home. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said, “Her behavior is not only dangerous—it’s abhorrent.” The teen remains in custody, with a court hearing set for August 7.
