Cindi Clark is speaking out after the sudden death of her 34-year-old son, Danny, who died from cardiac arrest caused by nicotine poisoning on December 12, 2024. Danny had switched from smoking to vaping, thinking it was safer and more acceptable to his girlfriend, but just over a year later, he passed away in his sleep.

The night before his death, Danny showed alarming symptoms—slurred speech and trouble with balance. While his lungs appeared normal in the autopsy, the nicotine level in his bloodstream was three times the safe amount. “Ultimately, he went to bed and it caused a heart attack,” Cindi said.
Danny’s mom now wants to raise awareness that vaping can be more dangerous than it seems. “It’s a false sense of security,” she warned. She emphasized the addictive strength of nicotine in vapes and the lack of regulation: “People don’t know what’s happening in other areas of their body.”
Cindi is calling for stronger oversight and hopes Danny’s story prevents other families from experiencing similar heartbreak.
