Maria Kovalchuk, a 21-year-old Ukrainian model, was found severely injured on a Dubai roadside in March after disappearing for over a week. Her family feared she was kidnapped. Maria was later discovered with a broken spine, multiple fractures, and head wounds, including what doctors described as a knife-inflicted scalp injury.
Maria had attended a luxury party at a five-star Dubai hotel, reportedly hosted by wealthy men. These types of events, often targeting social media influencers, are known for degrading and abusive treatment. Her mother, Anna, shared heartbreaking medical images showing stitches across Maria’s head. “If you saw the stitches… how the scalp had to be sewn back on,” she said in shock.

Maria underwent several surgeries and is now wheelchair-bound with a paralyzed leg. Her mother believes Maria was beaten and thrown from a car. “She had tearing under both arms and a broken collarbone,” Anna explained.
No one has been held responsible. Maria’s passport and phone were taken, and the case was closed as a suicide attempt—despite experts disputing that theory.
