A 16-year-old boy, Rayce Ogdahl, narrowly survived a terrifying accident after being electrocuted in his sleep. On April 30, 2024, his mother, Danielle Davis, awoke to his screams and found him with severe burn marks on his neck.
Rayce explained that he rolled over in bed, wearing a metal necklace, when it came into contact with exposed prongs from an extension cord charger. The necklace completed a circuit, sending a massive electric shock through his body. “He said he saw sparks and thought he was going to die,” Danielle shared.

He was rushed to Integris Health Baptist Medical Center and admitted to intensive care. Doctors revealed Rayce suffered second, third, and fourth-degree burns and was shocked with “enough amps to kill him.”
Danielle is now urging others to be cautious: “There’s no message worth keeping your phone in bed. Check your cords—and don’t use extension cords at all.”
Rayce, though still healing and scarred, is lucky to be alive.
