A Pennsylvania couple has shared their unexpected journey to parenthood.
Tucker Gilbert, 29, began transitioning in 2016 and later married Danielle after they agreed to an open relationship. In 2024, Tucker discovered he was pregnant by another partner, despite using protection. At the time, Danielle had been trying to conceive through a sperm donor.
They chose to continue the pregnancy and welcomed their daughter, Maya, in February 2025. Maya’s biological father is not involved, and the couple says they plan to be open with her about her story.
Since Tucker had previously undergone top surgery, Danielle induced lactation so she could breastfeed.
Despite online criticism, the couple says they are focused on raising their daughter in a loving and honest home.
