Melissa Ashcroft, a 30-year-old mother from Scotland, has spoken openly about the physical and emotional toll of living with size 36M breasts. Appearing on This Morning, she shared that her chest now weighs more than two and a half stone and has affected nearly every part of her daily life.
Melissa explained that her breasts continued growing well past her teenage years, eventually causing severe back and shoulder pain. Moreover, she often woke with deep marks from her bra straps and now struggles to lift her eight-month-old daughter. Getting out of bed each morning can take nearly an hour.

As her discomfort increased, so did unwanted attention. She said she felt constantly stared at in her city neighbourhood, which eventually prompted her to move to rural Scotland for more peace and privacy. “It was overwhelming,” she said. “I felt watched everywhere I went.”
Melissa hopes to undergo breast reduction surgery but has been denied treatment on the NHS because her BMI is above the required threshold. She noted that the weight of her chest contributes significantly to that number, creating what she described as an impossible cycle. Although weight-loss medication was suggested, she was advised that other health concerns make it risky.
The surgery would cost £13,500 privately, and Melissa is now crowdfunding for the procedure. She believes it would transform her quality of life, allowing her to move comfortably and care for her daughter without pain.
Health officials say they follow clinical guidelines, but Melissa remains determined to pursue the help she needs.
