New Food Stamp Rules Start in …see more….

Starting November 1, 2025, many adults receiving SNAP food benefits will face stricter rules. Able-bodied adults without dependents must complete 80 hours a month of work, training, or volunteering or risk losing benefits after three months within three years.

The changes also extend work requirements to people up to age 65, while some groups — including homeless individuals, veterans, and former foster youth — may lose certain automatic protections.

Critics warn the policy could make it harder for vulnerable people to keep food assistance, especially those with unstable jobs or personal challenges.
