Nicole Kidman has revealed how filming her latest erotic thriller became overwhelming. The 57-year-old Australian actress admitted she had to pause shooting several times because the scenes were too intense.
In Babygirl, Kidman plays Romy Mathis, a powerful CEO stuck in a loveless marriage who begins an affair with a younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson. The movie, which also stars Antonio Banderas, is packed with passion and high drama. “There were times when I thought, ‘I don’t want to anymore,’” Kidman confessed.

The actress said the repeated intimacy scenes left her emotionally drained. “It felt like burnout. I hated doing it and just wanted space,” she recalled. Still, Kidman praised director Halina Reijn for creating a respectful atmosphere and called the set “a sacred space.”
Kidman has never shied away from bold roles, but this one tested her limits. Her honesty offers a rare glimpse into the challenges actors face behind the glamour. Do you think intimate roles demand too much from performers?
